Classic Bus Running Day

Visitors to Gladstone Pottery Museum can enjoy a celebration of classic vehicles on Sunday 1 August.

The Longton museum is hosting a Classic Bus Running Day organised by local bus preservation societies and featuring many historic buses and coaches. Over 30 vehicles will date from the late 1940s right up to the 1990s, coming from Staffordshire, the midlands and further afield for this special event.

Visitors to the museum can admire a static display on the site car park and there will be opportunity to ride on classic vehicles. The extensive timetable includes regular bs services to Hanley, Trentham, Stone, Foxfield Railway, Ford Green Hall and Stoke-on-Trent from in and around Gladstone Pottery Museum.

There will also be free ‘feeder’ bus service to bring visitors to Gladstone. Pickups are at:

Crewe  Railway Station 9 and 10am
Crewe Bus Station (Bay 1) 9.05 and 10.05 am
Stafford Railway Station 10am
Uttoxeter Bus Station 9.30am
Stoke Station 10.10, 10.40, 11.10 and 11.40am and 12.10pm
Hanley Bus Station every 20 minutes from 10.10am
Ford Green Hall 10.30 and 11am and then every 20 minutes

All bus travel throughout the day is free of charge and full programmes will be available on the day for £2. Those using the bus service will also be given 2 for 1 admission at Ford Green Hall and Gladstone Pottery Museum.
