The Outreach Team have been working with groups in the community to create alternative records of their areas.
Wellington Street
The Wellington Street Project involved gathering stories from residents of the Wellington Street area of Hanley. These stories were recorded and photographs were collected, including resident’s own personal images and images taken during the Regeneration of the area. These have been put together into a Mediascape that you can download by clicking the image below. A mediascape is a GPS tour of an area, whilst you walk around the area your PDA will show images of the area before and during the regeneration, and you can hear stories that tell you of the times gone by.
Caverswall & Cookshill Community Book
The Caverswall & Cookshill community book was created over a series of workshops with the Caverswall and Cookshill Friendship Group. During the workshops the Outreach Team worked with the Friendship Group to collect personal images of the area along with stories and anecdotes to go with the images. These images were put together in a book and printed for the group to take home. The book is available to browse and buy online, just click on the image below to go to the book.
We have also worked with the Sisterhood at Broadway Methodists Church and with a community group at Goldenhill.
